Wet tablet keyboard fix?

Lovely vase of spring daffodils, inquisitive feline. Spilled water splashes lovely Toshiba Portege 3500 tablet PC.
Kitty has been banished to the basement and keyboard now strikes duplicate characters on single key presses.
Is there any hope? I have rested it upside-down overnight and gingerly applied a hair dryer.

Leave it upside-down in a non humid room. Remove the battery. Wait.

Or use a hair dryer on low to accelerate the process. Either way, make sure it's perfectly dry before trying to turn it on. Worst case, the keyboard can be removed and replaced by a tech without having to change anything else.
Believe it or not, in the Linux community Toshiba Porteges are known for their "keyboard bounce" (hitting a key once and getting multiple presses.... so much so that patches exist. I've got a 4000 and speak from firsthand experience. However, don't know if there's anything out the for Windows that will address that.

Time to upgrade to a Toshiba m200. You won't regret it.
