Krasny Oktyabr (Красный Октябрь) Д8, Д8e or Д6 engines?

Any MeFites know anything about Krasny Oktyabr (Красный Октябрь) Д8, Д8e or Д6 engines?

Here's an example pic.

They have been used, for example, on Riga mopeds. My son is very interested in acquiring one.

Does anyone sell them in the US?

Are they reliable?

Is it easy to get parts for them in the US?

Best answer: Some very rudimentary googling reveals that the Krasny Oktyabr company is still in business, so there's some hope that parts exist.

It also appears that the Riga mopeds have not been made in over 20 years, which puts it definitely into the "hobby" category.

If it is definitely a retro-Soviet sort of thing he's going for, instead of specifically that style of moped, the Ural motorcycle (especially older ones which are part-for-part clones of BMW bikes) has the same chic about it, with a much larger community and parts supply in the US.
