Valentine's Day gift: what to give someone who has almost everything?

Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away, and I still have no idea what to get for my boyfriend. Last year, I gave him a framed photo of us, chocolates, and a card. I'd really like to find something he would love, but don't know what - he has an iPod that he likes to play games on, along with Xbox/Kinect.. He hasn't mentioned any new games coming out that he wants to try. We like to watch movies, but usually on Netflix, so a DVD would only be good if the movie couldn't be watched online. We both love chocolate, and collecting vinyl records. Since the chocolate shop we like is in his hometown, there's really no way to get some there without him knowing, so we're going to get some to share.. I'm open to whatever ideas you may have. I just want to find or do something special for him.

Experiences are the traditional response to this. Find out something that he'd enjoy doing and buy tickets for both of you to do it together.

Things last only a while... experiences you take to your grave.

It's a holiday about love. Spending an evening with him doing wonderful things you've thought out in advance will be worth more to him than an iPod game or rare vinyl record.

Find out what bands are playing, or shows the local rep theater are staging, or open mic nights going on... find out what restaurants are really, really worth eating at, especially if you haven't eaten there before. Have a bottle of interesting new wine of the sort he likes (or sixer of beer!) waiting in the fridge when you get home, and plan on a long, leisurely morning in bed.

Do you live together/can you break into his place undetected for an hour? not martha's birthday treasure hunt is an awesome idea that could easily be adapted for Valentine's Day. Just leave little love notes and candies hidden around.

My first thought was a new pair of earbuds (maybe red ones if you want to be cute/thematic -- look at V-moda or Skullcandy on Amazon) and a thoughtful playlist.

Maybe a cooking class - or a chocolate making class if that is possible? Maybe the shop you like will offer you something if you ask - it could be a good moneymaker for them and you can be the test students.

There are some good ideas here, and here.
Also, if he likes gadgets - here

Response by poster: Good ideas so far - however, we live in college dorms, not together, and don't drink alcohol.

Brandini Toffee/Poppers. I picked some up in a Woot Off before Christmas and the popcorn just came along with the toffee. We are bananas about it (the toffee is great, but the popcorn is heavenly) and I just ordered more for him/us for Valentine's Day. It's so much better than any other "Crunch N Munch" type of treat.

So, throw in a movie and make a night of it? Seriously, it's so good.
