Who made my art?

I need help reading the name of the artist on two pieces of artwork I inherited from my Japanese step-grandmother.

The first is a (woodblock?) print and the second is (I think) an ivory netsuke. There are other pictures on my Flickr account if I have positioned the netsuke in the wrong direction to read.

Er... this isn't perfectly helpful but:

a. print's either done by a ~gawa ~shin or a ~gawa ~nobu (with the ~ being characters I failed to read)

b. netsuke's proper orientation is http://www.flickr.com/photos/25568610@N06/5345900937/in/photostream/ This one is ~yama

You'll probably need a native speaker for this one... signatures can obviously differ greatly from conventional structure
