definitely a bug not a feature

Can you tell me what type of bug/beetle this is?
This critter (well, a succession of his friends) have been found hanging out in my NYC area bedroom, usually on a light source for the past few months, one at a time for a total of about 6 so far.
Sorry the pics aren't great, he's dark brown and bumpy with an odd shaped body.
Can anyone identify him? Thanks!

Best answer: I'll go with the brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, covered by the NYT here.

Maybe I'm seeing the wrong picture, but img_0323 is definitely a salamander, not a bug!

Umm... what I'm seeing there is a pair of pugs, not a bug.

Those pugs are awesome!! Too cute. I also see a salamander on the right.
My first thought without photo was stinkbug. I got a bunch of them this year when it was warmer - they were surprisingly friendly, I would gently collect them and take them outside, so I don't know if they actually do stink.

If you've got stinkbugs, just kill them dead. They're an invasive species. We flush them or suck them up with a vacuum. They like to hide in small, warmish areas. Look behind pictures hanging on your walls. Pull books off their shelves and see if the blasted things are hanging out between the book and the wall/shelf. Man, I hate those things.

Response by poster: Haha. Yes, those are stink pugs.
Sorry that my flickr isn't behaving, but yes, they are stink bugs. Thanks.
