Can you name this painting (recreated as a sketch) from the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome?
I'm posting this for a friend. She fell in love with this painting after seeing it in September 2006, but hasn't been able to identify it since.
This is what she says:
"Here's the sketch I made within a month or two of seeing the painting. It's a portrait of a woman wearing (I think) two tones of green. She's standing in front of a peachy pink background, and there's a little vase of flowers right where her uterus/ovaries would be. I think she had brown hair, and it kind of rippled across her forehead in an undulating line that matches the undulations of the vase, and her figure, and the ruffle around her neckline. The painting is in Rome's Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, which is on the northern side of Villa Borghese park on Via de Belles Artes. When I saw it in September 2006 it was hanging in a room on the main/ground level, I believe. I don't know what you would call the style or period of painting, but I'm pretty sure it's a 20th century piece. Arte Moderna... it's probably 20th century."
I believe in you AskMefi.

Response by poster: That's it! And, in under 20 minutes. We both tried looking through the museum archives online, but we couldn't find it.

My psychic powers tell me that's because you foolishly chose English as your language. Apparently you get more results in the archive if you go with the Italian.
