21 year old nephew Christmas gift recommendation? he is going to Austria for a semester from states loves to ski.loves food.

How about travel related gear for his semester abroad? Magellan's is a huge travel supply store. Their homepage has links to gift suggestions in various price ranges. You could look at rain/cold weather gear. Perhaps a nice pair of earphones (not from Magellan's). Maybe an electronic translator if he doesn't have a smartphone. A Kindle maybe if he likes to read and you're interested in spending that much--they are great for international travel. A supply of maps and local guidebooks? Some combination of one or more of the above sounds like a thoughtful present to me.
