Alternatives to Limewire?

Mourning the loss of Limewire...any alternatives?

Being the cheapskate I am, Limewire was my main source of music downloads and now, sadly, it is no more. Is there anything comparable out there that's also FREE (i.e. not iTunes)? The only option I can think of is torrents, but for someone like me--preferring to download individual songs as opposed to entire albums--torrent downloading is not ideal. I am in the US and run Windows. Thanks in advance!

My dad was just asking me about a good p2p program too! I made fun of him for living in the 90s. An alternative if you want mostly popular stuff is to do site searches in google of the song you want from the download hosting sites like rapidshare... site:rapidshare.com "Reet Petite" for example. You sometimes get lucky.

This question might get deleted, but I just want to say that you can download individual files from a torrent instead of downloading the entire thing.

Soulseek is a popular alternative. They also have clients for mac and linux as well.

Stop breaking the law and try something like The Sixty One.

Most (if not all) torrent clients allow you to select individual files within the torrent. Which client as you using?

You can google about any "artist - song .mp3" and have a song downloaded in about 15 seconds. I believe beemp3 is one of the more popular sites that spiders other sites for it's files.
