Landlord/Business Insurance Recommendations Needed

Question in brief: need specific recommendations for an insurance company that will insure a duplex that is being used for a residence on one side and a business on the other.

Mrs. Plinth and I purchased a duplex, half of which is being rented out to a family, the other half to my wife's business. Our primary insurance company Amica, won't insure the property. My emergency backup insurance company, USAA, will not issue a landlord policy unless they also do our primary (don't want that - too expensive), and they don't like the business exposure. USAA recommended Foremost. Foremost insured the property and then canceled the policy saying, "we don't insure businesses" - which is quite the surprise since we were up front about the usage of the property.

I can use google like the rest of you - I'm looking for a personal recommendation, not the output of a search.

Best answer: The answer to this problem is to talk to an insurance agent who doesn't not represent a specific insurance company. This type of agent is likely to have experience with broader insurance requirements and will know specific companies that will target your specific requirements.
