Good resources for researching/evaluating potential REIT investments?

Trying to find resources to evaluate suggested REIT investments.

I've done my fair share of business and financial research in the past, but no longer working in libraries, am struggling a little with what resources to use for a financial investment question.

The financial planner for my family's estate has given me a list of suggested REITs and I'm batting zero in trying to find information about them. While I've read (thanks to the Business Librarian's listserv) that you can find evaluations for REITs in ValueLine, there's nothing in the online database I can get to through my public library. I'm also finding nothing through MorningStar and actually just the annual/quarterly SEC filings in Edgar.

Are there other niche specific resources to find any kind of analysis or recommendations for these companies? I haven't dived into the industry niche newsletter information you can find through general public library business databases.

Search for their ticker symbols on finance.google.com.

I don't know that a library is going to tell you anything that you can't get on the internet. Are you looking for paid research?

Response by poster: I wouldn't say paid research as much as I'm looking for that industry's equivalent to market research reports. All I have are the prospectus for each of these organizations and the SEC filings. What would be better would be some type of evaluation or rating, like what I can find on Morningstar when I'm looking at Mutual Funds. Or any kind of industry newsletter/report that sometimes are available through business specific databases.

Well, most good research will require that you pay for it, whether it be through ValueLine's service, or through another service.

Here is a link to research reports on HCN, for example.
