what are walker strips?

I have heard that one can be allergic to walker strips. What are walker strips?

They're the springy adhesive bandages running back Herschel Walker wore on his nose to improve his breathing and open his airways when he had a cold. He was the first to wear them in a professional athletic venue. Jerry Rice made Breathe Right strips famous.

I don't know about allergies, but sometimes the adhesive that holds on Breathe Right strips (and the various generic drug-store knock offs of them) gives me pimples in the creases on the sides of my nose if I don't scrub it all off properly the next morning (I use them for clearer breathing while sleeping rather than athletics). The adhesive can be a bit tenacious.
