Recommendations for a Paluxy river B & B in Glen Rose, Texas. I'm absconding with Mrs Pecantree for the weekend. Victorian lace and pillows do not make a B & B attractive. Rather, honest nature and beautiful scenery with good food. We plan lots of hikes during the day.

Does it need to be right on the Paluxy River? Rough Creek Lodge is in Glen Rose, a few miles southwest of the river. And they have the good food part in spades; this tiny little lodge in the middle of nowhere has won countless awards for premiere dining. Condé Nast regularly names Rough Creek the top resort in Texas. Plus with all the outdoorsy stuff.
