You want HOW much?!

Any recommendations for prepaid wireless for a laptop in the Netherlands that won't break the bank?

I have had nothing but bad luck for the whole month I've been here.

I need reliable internet connection for work but getting same is proving to be rather challenging. It's serious enough to warrant changing hotels, which I've done three times now. Two of the hotels that had wireless included in the room had a connection speed that would make a 56k dialup look like fibre. Most of the places I looked at wanted extortionate rates (one wanted €15 per day, and another wanted €5,95 per hour!).

Apparently aircards are unknown here, everyone is talking about a dongle. The problem there is that most of them require a Dutch bank account and a contract. I'm only here two more months so that isn't an option.

Does a straight-forward, affordable prepaid option even exist here?

I'm in Eindhoven, if it matters.

Alvast bedankt!

Best answer: Probably your best bet is to walk into a T-Mobile shop. There are some in the center of Eindhoven. Get a dutchman(/gal) to translate this for you:

Basically a USB dongle you plug into your laptop, that gets you 3G-equivalent internet access with no contract. I think you charge up your account like the pay-as-you-go system, by buying scratch cards at newspaper stands. Not cheap at 4.50 euro per day (which is the max daily amount you'll pay) but probably worth it for you? Also they'll probably ask for a deposit for the dongle which you'll get back at the end if I remember correctly.

And, umm, 4.50 euro a day for internet is cheap in holland if you don't have a long-term contract.

Response by poster: Ended up getting a wired connection which is working well, but your suggestion was definitely the way to go otherwise.
