FontExplorer won't import most of my fonts

Mac OS X 10.5.8 - using Linotype FontExplorer version 1.2.3 -- can't get my fonts to import on the new computer.

I am using FontExplorer to manage my fonts. On my old computer (G5 tower), it imported all 800+ fonts with no problem, and managed them beautifully. On my new computer, it only imported about 350 of my 800 fonts. On both computers, the set up was exactly the same -- all of the fonts are in a folder on my desktop.

I've used the "Import Fonts" command, chosen the fonts folder--no luck. I've tried dragging fonts from the font folder into the Linotype window--no luck. It's not a duplication problem; I've skimmed over the 800 fonts and lots and lots of them are just not in FontExplorer, no matter what I do.

Both my old computer and my new computer are running OS X 10.5.8, and both are running the same version of FontExplorer (1.2.3).

I'm absolutely stumped. Any help out there?

You may have only Opentype Postscript or Truetype fonts checked to import.
See File> Import > Import Following Font types

Response by poster: Nope - all font filetypes are checked.
