Is this game safe to download?

My sister's son wants to download a game from http://playthisthing.com/syobon. I checked the site and it looks ok. I told her I would Ask Metafilter to take a look at the site.

Her son is only 10. They have had some major virus and malware problems, so she will not let him download anything.

What do you all think? Is it safe?

I wouldn't hesitate to download anything linked to by playthisthing. Greg Costikyan is well-known in the gaming community.

Playthisthing should be fine so far as malware is concerned, but some of the stuff on there can be inappropriate for a 10 year old. Syoban looks fine, but like it would just be frustrating to play.
