Help me keep these new Diesel shoes awesome forever and ever
On Monday, these new Diesel kicks are gonna arrive at my house and make my feet into what Zeus' feet would be like were he still alive and not fictional and having feet and the good taste to get these rad shoes.
They look a bit like Suede but it's mainly leather.
I want to keep these looking at least reasonably nice for as long as possible. But how?
I live in a city and dont really do much off-pavement stuff but I do walk a lot and that definitely does take a toll on my footwear.
So what can I do to keep these fresh and clean and nice?
I was considering lacquering them down with Scotchguard when they arrive but I'm open to ideas. Thompson's Water Seal? Run them through a laminator at Kinkos?

Response by poster: I should have mentioned I live in Northern California.

When that white rubber starts to look dingy, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will get it back to whiter than you ever thought possible.

Best answer: Here's your best best for extending the life of any pair of shoes:
Do NOT wear two days in a row. The leather needs a chance to dry and breathe between wearings. 24 hours will do it. So yes, as nomad suggests, buy a back-up pair and alternate wearings.

Especially if you live in a city, the amount of snow and salt that ends up on winter footwear can take a huge toll on leather shoes.
