Sick of iPod Touch deleting my notes

Why is my iPod Touch deleting text from my Notes?
I've been having a problem lately with the Notes section of my iPod Touch. I'll be adding something to a note I've already started, and will either pause or click Done, and it will erase everything I've written up to that point. I got (blurry) video of what's happening here. What is causing this and how do I get it to stop? According to iTunes, my software is up-to-date (4.0). I'm still under warranty, so I could always take it intoHell the Apple Store, but if I can avoid that, I'd like to.

Response by poster: Ah ha! "Sync Notes" was checked in iTunes. I have unchecked the box, hopefully that will help.

Best answer: Actually, I think that "sync notes" in iTunes something entirely different. That refers to whether or not you want to sync your notes from the iPod to your computer and vice-versa. But there's another feature that also lets you sync your notes to/from your e-mail account, and I think you'd need to turn that off to fix the problem. It's in settings -> e-mail -> (choose your account) -> "notes".

Best answer: You poor thing. You sound so frustrated!!! Sorry this is happening!
I had a similar problem with my iPhone and when I powered off & back on (by holding the home button and the top button down until it rebooted), it magically repaired itself. I know that is a super obvious solution, but just wanted to post it on the off chance you haven't tried it yet!!

Response by poster: Turned that thing off, too, thanks helios. And I will try a reboot, thanks hansbrough. The problem seems to come and go- hadn't seen it in awhile and then today I lost the world's most beautiful grocery list.

I was having the same problem today. Problem is, I haven't synced my phone in days. No idea what's causing it, but it seriously ticked me off (I'm keeping a log of my temperature because I'm sick ...)
