Any ideas on where to find vuvuzelas (stadium horns) for sale in Portland, Maine, today?
Response by poster: Do you know what time would they arrive tomorrow?

Response by poster: Looked it up - seems they would arrive within 24 hours, as long as they're ordered by 11am.
I'd rather not pay the huge shipping fee if I don't have to. If anyone has ideas for finding them locally, please post.

If it's still there, I'd try that party goods store in S. Portland, the one on Maine Mall Rd. across from the car dealership & cell phone store.

Response by poster: Called the store (iParty). They had them but are now sold out.

if you order from amazon i would not count on your vuvuzelas arriving in 24 hours. when i ordered mine it took nine days for them to arrive. three days until they actually shipped and six days in transit. i believe the 24 hour estimate is only for products sold directly by amazon and not one of their associates.

There is another iParty store in Augusta, if you can drive an hour north -- 621-2961.

I've discovered that pool noodles make excellent vuvuzelas in a pinch. Or, at least, my making vuvuzela noises through one had the same effect on my wife that I suspect an actual vuvuzela would have.

Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods in South Portland? I could see them wanting to have some on hand.

Put an ad on CraigsList or Freecycle? Post-World-Cup maybe fans are willing to unload.

Response by poster: Figured I'd come back and update this. Thanks for all the help, folks. It didn't work out that day and the perfect vuvuzela moment passed, but I appreciate all the ideas.
