Shopping for pearls in Hawaii

We are on vacation in Honolulu/Waikiki and my husband is thinking about buying me a piece of pearl jewelry. We would like find a store that we can be confident offers good quality at a fair price. Any suggestions? Also, how would prices on pearls compare to the mainland? Any other, related suggestions are also appreciated. (We do a rental car, so we can get around)

Maui Divers is nice. Also, I would try Ala Moana, the big mall. There are many stores there. Don't bother with the International Market Place. Macy's in Honolulu is actually a good place to buy Hawaii-style jewelry.
