Why track bowel movements?

Why would someone want their roommate to track their bowel movements?

What is the deal with this Craigslist this posting?

Is there a legitimate reason for the last paragraph?

Screenshot in case the posting comes down.

To attract flags for "best-of-craigslist". I assume this for any oddball listing.

That's not really fair, mkb. He could simply be a massive pervert.

Or, maybe, technically, possibly, he's trying to nail down sewer problems.

Probably to get people to forward it around for hilarity and have a better chance of scoring a roommate faster. Plenty of people would just shrug at that if that's a good offer otherwise.

My only thought is that this is a reference to a running joke on the TV show "The Big Bang Theory," where the over-the-top OCD roommate regularly discusses his "schedule" and asks potential roommates about their preferences.

I saw this just a couple of minutes ago and saw a response to it about referencing a show "The big bang theory," anyone watch this show and can comment on there being a link to the two?

Maybe it's Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory"? (or someone an awful lot like him)

It could be an experiment similar to this one. (No nudity, but possibly NSFW)

Sounds like they're going for "Best of" - though I don't have any knowledge of the Big Bang Theory that most people are mentioning.

It could also be a very, very odd way of weeding out the spam that one is certain to get in response to any ad posted on Craigslist.

Tracking toilet paper usage?

Yeah, it's a Big Bang Theory reference. The super-genius/ socially-inept housemate, Sheldon, has a preoccupation with bowel movements and scheduling. The cooler but still inept housemate, Leonard, is lactose-intolerant, which often unnerves Sheldon and upsets his plans.

Tracking toilet paper usage?

Maybe it's the same person who asked this question.

When I saw this post my eyes bugged out of my head. I did this exact thing with my college roommate. For us it was a sick joke born out of... well I could say some sort of drunken craziness... but we were on the chem free floor. I guess it was just us being wacky.

It was me tracking her, and we even had a "poopy chart." Until a couple days later she came to her senses, tore it off the wall and said, "no more of this you freak!"

Hmm.. I really don't think I should be telling people about this.

I agree with the publicity angle. The ad has made it's way onto Consumerist now.
