Cleaning tips for "leather"

A great way to clean vinyl upholstery?

My office has several chairs with pebble surface fake leather. You can see the dirt in the lighter colored ones. They are going to be cleaned while we are taking a vacation week. What should I buy for this? I used a Comet- slurry on one underside section and it worked amazingly. But I don't want to ruin/dry out/crack the material if used all over. Or can I if I follow up with a conditioner? Or is there an all in one product? I don't want to spend a fortune on Armor-All unless that is the best thing to use.

Google results suggest soap and water with a scrub brush may be your best bet. If you need a bit of scouring action baking soda might do the trick without attacking the vinyl.

You aren't going to believe it until you try it but Windex and a steel wool pad will do the job righteously. My husband just demonstrated that to the guys from St. Vincent de Paul, who just arrived to pick up our old couch and chair, only to turn their noses up at the stains. Win!

Rubbing alcohol works pretty well.
