Embarassing la embarazada.

Okay, put on your thinking sombreros, mefites. I need ideas for Mexican fiesta themed baby shower games.

I know, how off-the-wall is that? Anything would fly though, this group of gals is as cheeseball and game for stupid human tricks as they come. So give me your most ludicrous shoehorned-in, refried ideas!!

Here's a couple ideas I've gotten:
- Match the Spanish safety warning to the baby contraption?
- Guess how many babies are in the burrito? (little cake-topper babies)
- Cloth diaper held in the teeth relay race filling up a bucket with dry pinto beans. BABY BOOTY BEANS BONANZA!!!

Clearly, these are painful. That's ok, though. Something having to do with the tequila worm...? Baby burros? Mariachis... maybe with toy instruments?

Making Luchador masks. Paper plates + construction paper, glue, scissors and elastic thread. Preferably to be followed with tequila induced wrestling. (mom-to-be can be the judge)

Give out Sombreros and/ or chile pepper bracelets.

But definitely give out maracas. The crowd should have to shake them whenever the mom-to-be says something specific, or when she opens gifts or something.

Pin the Sombrerro on the Baby! (much nicer than "pin the poop on the baby" which was played at my baby shower.)

You could also have them do papel picado baby-related shapes. Cut out paper designs of letters, rattles, babies, nursing bras, caps and booties, cribs, bottles diapers, etc., etc. Mom-to-be judges the best work of art, and the winner has to sing Ay! Papacito!". :D

You could do a baby-related word matching game, but in Spanish? The clues could be in English and the answers fairly simple words.

For example, the questions in one column: "What *insert new mom's name here* will be after her due date", "The sex of the baby", and the answers in the other: Mamá, niña (out of order, of course). The guests would match up the question with the right answer.

"Don't drop the baby" using a sack of beans and a rebozo? Teams of two taking each end and tossing it up in the air.

Instead of a bow hat, a bow sombrero.

Nacho bar

crepe paper flowers as decoration. I loved these things as a kid. Here's a video

(The flowers link also has some good game suggestions)

Best answer: Loteria. (It's like Bingo! but with crazy/weird cards, including The Cabal.)

I know, I'm totally lame, but this would distress me, so maybe run it by the guest of honor first?

Palliser has a great point. It would probably be disturbing to many people, especially those who have a baby-shaped baby inside them.

Response by poster: Update!

We played Loteria, Eat Poop, You Cat (baby edition) and had a baby-making contest (with play-doh).

Plus, I found this biZARRE piñata of a graduate which looked like a big fat pregnant woman in a blue hospital gown, so we got to perform a "P-section" and that was great fun. I put lots of great goodies and gags in there, like Plan B and a "Big Cherry" and such.

Thanks!
