Dance/voice lessons for adults in the Twin Cities

Recommendations for dance/voice lessons for adults in the Twin Cities.

I'm 29, have lots of voice training and a little dance training, but both skills have been sitting rusty for close to a decade. I'd like to revive them. Do you have a private voice teacher you love in the Twin Cities area who focuses on musical theatre? How about a dance studio that has adult classes? I'm looking for jazz/tap/ballet as opposed to ballroom.

I'm in Richfield, but can go anywhere in the Twin Cities/near-by suburbs.

Thanks!

Some of my favorite swing dance instructors originally came from Minneapolis, though I believe only one is still around and he's such a big name he probably doesn't do much in the way of local teaching.

The Minnesota Lindy Forum should have some information for you.

You don't have to be a U of M student to take their dance classes, and the teachers are amazing. The three that I know of are some of the best choreographers in the cities. There's jazz and tap, and I know there's at least one class for the acting BFA students. But again, I'm pretty sure most of those classes are open to anyone. Let me know if you need contact info.

Also, mn dance (used to be Ballet Arts) has adult classes.

For social dancing, Tapestry has very friendly swing classes as well as other folk dances.

For voice, that's tougher because it's so personality driven. McPhail has vocal classes, and that might be a good way to meet a bunch of teachers, almost all of whom give private lessons. If you really need private lessons, I can send you a few contacts that I really respect.

Have fun!

On Your Toes is in St. Louis Park [near Burlington Coat Factory]; they teach adult classes. My wife and I took a ballroom class a while ago.

Disclosure: I know the owners, but have no business interest.
