Quotefilter: I know, I know, two in a row, but there is a fantastic quote about fostering a love of reading that I am looking for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The quote went something like this: "If a child expresses even the slightest interest in a book, we should move mountains and cross oceans to get a book in that child's hands". I have no idea who said it, but I seem to think it was a famous author or educator.

I'm taking a literacy class in my education major right now and this quote would be PERFECT for several things!

Hope Me Metafilter!

I feel like I've heard this before, but I can't put my finger on where. For some reason I think it has something to do with Harry Potter--maybe it was said by J.K. Rowling, or said by someone else in response to criticism of her books?
