Interdental Toothbrushes

My dentist told me that I should start to use an interdental toothbrush once a day. Are their any particular brands I should look out for or are the generics just as good? Also, any tips when it comes to using one?

This is not a brush, but perio-aid has been as good for me as those pictures on their site are bad to look at.

My teeth are oddly spaced, so I have to use different sizes of interdental brushes, to avoid a repeat of the horror night when one brush got stuck in a too-small gap and I thought I was going to have to drive to the hospital with it sticking out of my mouth. I got it out in the end, after much pain and panic, but since then I've had to make sure that I don't try to force too wide a brush into too small a gap.
