How can I convert voicemail into mp3s?

How can I transfer phone messages from my answering service onto my computer as permanent audio files?
(I did find this question, but wondered if there might be a newer way since it's pretty old now.)
I am a very sentimental person. Over the last couple years I have been saving significant phone messages in my Verizon voicemailbox, and now it's gotten to the point where it's completely full. I would really like to clean out my mailbox, but still preserve messages from my little brother and grandma and best friend. Ideally, I would like to save them on my computer as mp3 files. Is there an easy way for a non-tech savvy person to do this?
If it is relevant, I have an older blackberry phone which (I think) has some sort of blue tooth technology that I have never used and do not understand. My computer is a 6 year old Mac Powerbook with no microphone. I have wondered about using some internet phone service to check the messages and then using the Audio Hijack program to record the streaming audio, but don't know exactly how that would work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, and step by step advice would be amazing. Thank you so much!

Response by poster: Thanks so much--I didn't find that question earlier. I'm going to try this weekend.

2) Call your phone with Skype while recording.
3) When you hear your voicemail greeting, press pound to enter your voicemail menu.
4) Playback all the messages, then cut the resulting MP3 into pieces with your favorite audio program.
