Does anyone remember when an Eddie Izzard Theme Night was broadcast in Channel 4 in the UK? It included a screening of Woody Allen's film Sleeper.

I've had a look around Google and there seems to be collective amnesia apart from a mention on this page from 2001 so it has to be before then:

Best answer: Yes, I watched it recently when (you may want to bite your hand when reading this) I was throwing out old videotapes before discarding my video recorder - I had recorded the entire night, and most enjoyable it was too. Highlights also included Skipwatch - a few things were removed, a sofa was thrown in, and I think someone had a pee on one of them as well. To perhaps help you in your seach, I believe it was called 'Channel Izzard' and dates from 1997. In fact, here it is http://www.tigeraspect.co.uk/?p=459

The reason I said that is because about a week later I bought one of those vhs-to-pc leads and, had I copied it (as I did with other comedy like Baddiel and Newman, also unavailable on DVD) I could have sent you a copy. So it was me really doing the biting-hand thing, thinking 'you should have copied that! someone in the world NEEDS it!'. However, at least I could help with the name, so I suppose thats something ;0)
