Help me suggest a virtual event to my virtual friends...

What kind of mellowish, retroish virtual entertainment can I suggest at my friend's Second Life sim?

The place is known for old movies and old-timey radio. There's been some success with a comedian. Chapter readings and radio plays... the events would be the sort of thing where people hang out and listen or participate in something entertaining but kinda retro. Owner is looking for something of a series that would create a "cult following".

There is no shortage of voice actors, writers and poets out in the metaverse. Voice is a given. So, here's what I'm thinking, on the brainstorming level, so far:

-Someone being Watson (and dressing appropriately for the role) and reading chapters from Sherlock Holmes stories. Perhaps having a Sherlock Holmes avatar to interject or speak his quoted lines.

-Having someone dress as Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot and read the appropriate Agatha Christie mysteries.

Any ideas for cultish novels, plays or anything completely different to suggest?

Best answer: Could you do a murder-mystery dinner party? Make it a period piece maybe?

Best answer: A seance, with table-raising, knocking, and spectral emanations.

Best answer: Maybe you could do a salon. Lots of famous examples here. That's pretty retro. There's the Algonquin Roundtable as well.

Personally, I've always wanted to recreate Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf? with a few close friends. Great dialogue, and you only need four characters.
