Where can I get ambient nature sounds on the internet?
I've recently found that enjoy my sleep much more when I can put on some nature sounds in the background, things like booming thunderstorms with heavy rain, and waves crashing against the shore, that sort of thing.
Where can I get more of these? I'd love to have a wide variety of them, from rainforests to cities, and since I'm a starving student I'd prefer if they were free/very very cheap.

You didn't mention if you have an iphone, so on the off chance that you do, the Ambiance app is awesome for this. It's 99 cents and you can download unlimited sounds, of which there are a wide wide variety. It also has a timer so you can set it to fade out after a certain time. I fall asleep to an hour of "Raindrops on Tent" every night.

Listening Earth does amazing recordings of birdsong and other nature sounds mostly from Australia and Asia. Not free but incredibly beautiful.

I use Atmosphere every night. Love it; even the free version.

I sometimes leave the Sound Sleeping site open while I'm sleeping, I like that it allows for mixing different sounds.

Something like this on last.fm is free and has stuff from Dan Gibson and the like. Just start the radio station and away you go to sleepytimedreamland.
