Recommend me a trustworthy UK data recovery company...?

Can anyone recommend me a trustworthy UK-based data recovery company of whom you have first-hand positive experience?

Back in August - see this AskMeFi post - my hard drive stopped mounting. I tried all the recommended techniques to see if I could get it going, but sadly none of them worked.

I sent it off to a data recovery company (Datatrack Labs) who clung on to the drive, refusing to send it back and basically holding it to ransom....they even charged me money to return it having done nothing at all to claim back my data. So having lost my drive for several months - without any data recovery having been done on it as far as I know - I'm now especially suspicious of data recovery people.

Rapid Data Recovery was one company that came up in Google Ads but when I searched on their reputation all I found was a series of negative reports from other customers, describing a very similar experience to what I went through with Datatrack.

I understand that there is likely to be a significant cost in recovering a 1 terabyte drive. But can anyone recommend a trustworthy, good value data recovery expert?

Kroll (Ontrack). Hugely expensive but the best. Used by all the City law firms.
