What is the best email "drip" marketing service?

I need to send out follow up emails at a scheduled interval, like 7 days after the customer fills out a form. I don't have anything like ACT!, the list would be from people that fill out the form.

What's your budget?

There are a number of tools that do drip marketing, but most of them are pretty expensive compared to just conventional email platforms.

Other things to consider are whether or not the tool is smart enough to stop the drip or change the drip depending on the situation. For example, you may drip offers to your prospects, but as soon as they become live leads for your sales group you may want to cancel the drip entirely. Or switch to a different kind of drip. You may not need that kind of functionality, but having it changes the landscape as well.

The four tools I've looked at in the past that do drip marketing are ExactTarget, Campaigner, Blue Sky Factory, and Silverpop. They're all excellent, but they have different strengths and weaknesses. I'm sure there are other tools as well.

Best answer: MailChimp does this with their autoresponder feature. I have had nothing but good experiences with MailChimp.
