Where did the lump on my testicle go?

A few of months ago I found a lump on my testicle. The lump was firm and the size of half a marble. It was there for at least two weeks after I initially discovered it, but it became too disturbing for me to touch, and I didn't have time to deal with it properly (i.e. go to a doctor), so I stopped touching it for a couple of months. Now I can't find it. wtf? Did it dislodge and float elsewhere? Did it dissolve? Was it just a swelling of some sort? Did Jesus heal me?

maybe it was a spermatocell?

either way, get an ultrasound done asap.

I vote for Jesus, but I'd feel better if you heard that from a doctor.

Maybe your testicle is gone and all you have there now is LUMP.

Either way, sounds like it's time for a full physical.

There once was a guy with a lump
Who posted online, like a chump*
He found it was nice
To seek med'c'l advice
And ensure he'd continue to bump

PS - you're not really a chump. I just mean you really should see a doctor!

Yeah, see a doctor. Probably some sort of temporary cyst or whatever, but dude -- it's your nuts! Not taking them seriously would mean you're nuts. Go to the clinic and get checked out. Having a doctor check your testicles isn't what I'd describe as comfortable or fun, but it only takes a few minutes and isn't that bad.

I didn't have time to deal with it properly (i.e. go to a doctor)

It's a good thing the lump appears to have gone away. Because in the future you should make the time to deal with a strange lump on your ball properly or there's a not insignificant chance that you'll never have to worry about making time to see a doctor again.

See a doctor and ask him your question.

Probably fine, cyst or something.

N'thing... the next time you find a lump on your nuts, you go to the doctor *immediately*.
Cancer happens.. and it's easy to treat if found early.

there's no such thing as "not having time" to check on testicular lumps. If you're not at the doctor's office right this second reading this on your blackberry, then you're a freakin' crazy person.

A few years ago, I found a lump. It turned out to be a hydrocele.
I found out in this totally crazy and off the wall way: I went to the doctor and told her about the lump in my testicle.

Not have the time? You could have a lot less if you get bollock cancer, and none of it pleasant. Get it checked now, there's all sorts it could be and maybe you still need some treatment.

My brother found a lump on his testicle when he was 26. Now he only has one testicle left! You're in the age group for testicular cancer. It's very treatable but if it's malignant, weeks matter. I don't expect a cancerous tumor to just vanish, but Christ, man. DOCTOR DOCTOR DOCTOR....

It could indeed have been a cyst. I'm pretty prone to cysts, and one place I get them is in my breasts -- and they're common enough that my doctor has actually told me that I should only worry about breast lumps if they don't go away on their own after a couple months. Usually, they do.

HOWEVER. My doctor only told me this after three separate occasions of my finding a lump in my breast and my running IMMEDIATELY to my doctor to have it checked out. Because only a doctor can ascertain whether the lump anywhere on you is "whoa, this is weird, we need to look into this" or "hey, this seems to be happening a lot, I think you can calm down about this from now on". I would advise the same -- until your doctor tells you you can skip it, you MAKE the time to get a strange lump anywhere on your person investigated.

Seconding (or thirding, or however many times) the "see a doctor as soon as possible" crowd. This is in the realm of medical symptoms that often will get you a near immediate appointment with most docs. If I called my doctor's office and told them "lump in testicle," they'd have me in likely the next day. It's a serious symptom.
