Can I make a bootable DVD from a bootable partition?

I have a 7 Gb bootable recovery partition on my PC. Can I make a bootable DVD (DL) from it, either in XP or Ubuntu? Thanks!

I would be surprised if there weren't a utility on that partition for that very purpose. Poke around and see.

Response by poster: I looked around and didn't find anything obvious. They made it hard to look at the partition. Looking at any directory just displayed a warning, and not the contents. Neither explorer or the dos box could look at it. I could browse through it in Ubuntu, but I couldn't run anything from there even if I'd found something.

I found some stuff online about making bootable CDs from boot floppies, but not from bootable HD partitions. But perhaps it's a wrong-headed thing to try to do anyway.
