Small corporate law firms in NYC?

New York MeFites -- do you know (or are you) a lawyer in a small firm, interested in taking on business clients who need modest quantities of good, sophisticated corporate and finance counseling, and who are happy to pay NYC rates for it?

I regularly receive requests for referals to such lawyers but can't satisfy them from my network of big firm lawyers who are bound to firm policies which set $50k to $100k per-matter minimums.

Ack. Sorry, can't help you in New York, but if you're in the PNW and you want a lawyer for a startup company that does something with information and/or intellectual property, I can't reccomend Idea Advocates enough. They even spec work on a project/fee basis rather than an hourly/fee basis.

My lawyer, Moss & Moss, LLP says "We are a small firm and we are happy to perform this kind of service. If we are unable to help you, we will refer you to someone else. We never charge for an initial consultation, and we do not set per-matter minimums."

Contact John Moss.

Response by poster: Have gotten a number of suggestions above and via private e-mail. Most of these are actually a little on the too small size. The clients I'm talking about need highly sophisticated finance work, just not in large quantities.

I guess what I'm hoping to find is some West 35th Street open-plan hangout of six ex-Cravath associates who wanted to be able to spend more time working on their backhands and (eventually) coaching their kids soccer, and who'd give up the shot at 7 figure incomes to do it...
