Iphone Question

I am getting ready to purchase an iphone. Just wanted to know if I can access auction sites that require me to log in with a password. Also I would like to know will I be able to bid on items. Please help, as I don't want to make a wrong decision. Thanks

You should be able to access any web site that doesn't require Flash, including auction sites.

If there is a particular site you are thinking of, post it here, and someone with an iPhone can test the site for you.

I just opened the eBay site on my iPhone and it appears to load correctly.

Yes, you can login to most websites on an iPhone. However, the iPhone cannot render Flash, therefore without more specifics (e.g. what site?) we won't be able to answer this with 100% certainty.

You might have some issues if these auction sites require mouseovers to trigger certain behaviors, as some fancy web apps are apt to do. Such is the nature of touchscreen surfing. Apart from that, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Both of those sites load on my iPhone. I don't have accounts at either of them but it looks like you should be able to log in fine via the iPhone.

If you're buying at an Apple store, you can try before you buy - not sure if that's true at AT&T stores, though.

I've used eBay (logging in, bidding) straight from the browser on my BB Curve, which is, iI imangine, less sophisticated than your iPhone browser.

It is true in my experience. The AT&T store where I just bought my iPhone had working models on display for anyone to play with.

The iPhones at WalMart are not working models, however.
