Christmas Day and New Year's Eve in DC. Don't want to spend a lot of money, don't really know anyone in the area. What should I do?

Yeah, I'll be back in DC all of next week!

Maybe the meetup doesn't have to take place at a bar this time? I missed a previous meetup because of that...

It's a shame brownpau will be in Manila with his virginia ham...

Movies and Chinese food. That's what Jewish friends have told me anyway.

Response by poster: I made a MeTa thread for a meetup proper. But I'm still at a loss for what to do as the clock strike midnight. (And I'm Jewish, so I'm less concerned about Christmas than NYE.)

I'm confident New Years Eve will take car of itself so maybe on som of the down days in between you might consider volunteering? And still time for an evening meetup, no doubt. Or maybe a MeFi Volunteer Meetup!
