How do I bet on Rachael Alexandra in the Woodward?

How do I place a bet on Rachael Alexandra in the upcoming Woodward Stakes without actually attending the race?
I'm a lifelong though fairly casual fan of horse racing, but this year I've become a big fan of the filly Rachael Alexandra. It was announced this morning that she will be running in the upcoming Sept 5th Woodward Stakes against older males, trying to be the first female horse of any age to win this race.
I'd love to make a small bet on her in this race, but I have no idea how to do this. I've been looking online but can't seem to find anything.
Does anybody know how I could place a bet on this race remotely?

Response by poster: How would I find the nearest to me? I live near Rochester, MN.
So you mean I could go to a nearby local race track and place a bet on a Saratoga race there?

Best answer: There's actually a legal online site called Youbet.com that takes horse racing bets. There is a park called Canterbury Park that will accept wagers, as well.

Best answer: Yep, you can go to a local track and place a bet and watch it there too on the monitors. Canterbury Park might be your nearest live place, but it looks like a couple of hours away. Give them a call - they could answer all these questions, if there was somewhere closer, etc.

Response by poster: That sounds like fun - thanks for the thoughts, I hadn't realized you could do that!
