What was nibbling at my legs in the sea at Naples Beach this morning?

I was swimming at Naples Beach Florida this morning and a very persistent, long thin fish kept nibbling at my legs. It was 2-3 inches long, maybe 1/4 inch thick, & had bold black & white stripes. It seemed to want to attach to me in the same way shark lamprey do. What was it?

Best answer: Was it a young cobia? They're related to the remora.

Response by poster: @elsietheeel: thanks!: looks like it was a cobia or remora. Actually, looking at pics, more like a remora since it was kind of eel-like.
