I was browsing a favourite blog of mine, and inserted seemingly randomly was this text: e_SEmD. Being curious, I did a quick google search and found that tag littered throughout thousands of sites. Anyone have any idea what this is?

Best answer: Some publishing system messing up when attempting to escape (or unescape) an em dash? You'll find instances of e_SEnD too, on some of those sites.

Response by poster: Well, that does seem pretty logical. And no where near as interesting as I was hoping it would be.

It's like when you get your newspaper and there's some errant LaTeX in it.
