It's true. Everyone DOES need a hug.

I have an "Everyone Needs A Hug" Metafilter t-shirt. It is too small for me to wear. What should I do with it?

N.B.: I would like to keep the t-shirt in my possession, so "Give it to me!" is not a valid answer.

Make it a cover to a throw pillow.

Added bonus: You can hug it when done thus completing the circle.

Buy a large dog, move to cold climate.

No, wait--put it on one of those inflatable punching bag clowns.

Put it on, or turn it into, an arm pillow.

We have a manikin in our kitchen wearing a The President and the King t-shirt because it no longer fits any of us and we couldn't part with it.

Best answer: If it's just a tiny bit too small to wear, you can stretch it out a bit over the back of a chair or some other flat surface.

Otherwise, Generation T has some cool ideas.

Cut the front out and stitch it to an old apron.

Alas, it is way too small to wear. (I didn't read the sizing chart; mea culpa.)

Best answer: I have some small shirts that I've been meaning to turn into shopping bags. Although I've not yet actually tried this i have an idea of how it might work... A quick google to see if anyone else thought of this aaaaaand...

Dangit, it looks like Martha beat me to it. This one looks cooler though.

You could perform surgery on it and make it larger.

You could cut out the slogans and patch them onto another garment, maybe a larger version with different slogans. Then you could have "special snowflake" and get all ironic and put "Everyone need a slug" and get all Fight Clubby.

Best answer: Turn t-shirt inside out.

Sew bottom edges, one short sleeve and neck together at hems.

Turn right side out and stuff with batting (buy at any craft store really cheap) by pushing batting into unstitched sleeve opening.

Stitch final sleeve together by hand, using a loop stitch (not sure if the name is right) on the two inside hems to connect them with a nearly invisible hem.

You have a soft Metafilter t-shirt pillow to hug!

I have the same problem. I'd like to know what kind of XL women that was supposed to fit. I'm thinking of hanging it on the wall like my own MeFi shrine.

Best answer: Check out this post I did on things to do with t-shirts you can't or don't want to wear.
