I want my top rated photos in Lightroom on my iPhone.

I use Lightroom instead of iPhoto. How can I forge a better relationship between my iPhone and Lightroom?

I have a lot of photos in Lightroom. Way too many to put on my iPhone. So, I would like to somehow get my top rated photos in Lightroom onto my iPhone. I realize that in iTunes, you can choose a folder instead of use iPhoto to sync your pictures. However, I specifically want to only sync certain pictures, namely the ones that I have designated with five star ratings in Lightroom.

Any advice on how to accomplish this, or better yet, 3rd party plug ins or something, that can help my Lightroom library and iTunes / iPhone live together in peace.

You have to export the pictures before you sync them to your iphone otherwise any adjustments you've made won't be reflected in the sync. The pics that will sync will be the originals as shot.

As far as I know, there's no way to automatically get lightroom to export pictures, so what I would do is setup an export profile for 5-star pictures. Sync them all to a folder that's going to sync to your iphone. So Filter to view only 5-star pics in library mode, apply the relevant export profile and it should auto-sync.

Make a Smart Collection with your 5-star criteria and export it (with an iPhone export preset) periodically to a folder that will sync to your iPhone. That is what I do, works fine, the Smart Collection makes it painless and quick.
