File transfer from Creative Zen to Windows Vista?

Asking for a co-worker I wish to impress: how to transfer music from a Creative Zen ONTO his new (Vista running) laptop?

Hi all-

My coworker's computer crashed so he got a new one. He still has all his music on his approx. 4 year old Creative Zen. Instead of ripping all his CDs to his computer again, how can he transfer the music from the mp3 player to his computer? I have Googled but can't figure it out...is this even possible? Halp??

Thanks so much for any tips, mefis =)

Um...My Zen Vision:M just plugs in in Vista & I can drag and drop. Have you tried doing that yet?

I have two Zen's of different vintages. They both look like a USB thumb drive when plugged in. Open Windows Explorer (if it doesn't open for you when you plug in the Zen), and drag the MP3s into a folder on Vista.

With the later models Zens (16GB/32GB), install the Creative software and export the music using it.

Instead of installing software, you should be able to connect the plater to the PC and have it display as an external drive, somewhere under the C drive, in Windows Explorer. From there, you should be able to drag and drop from the player to the PC.
