Help me plan my destination wedding in Italy (and avoid getting scammed).

My fiancé and I (thank you green team for helping to make it happen) are planning a destination wedding in Rome for June 2010.

We have been exchanging email messages with a planner through a site called http://www.italian-weddings.com.. This site is associated with a firm called World-Weddings LLC which is apparently based in Colorado somewhere. The specific planner who has been emailing us is from Euroevents & Travel, LLC. Even though she has been helpful so far, after some Google action, I think I am SCARED. of Euroevents & Travel, LLC.

My question is: Can you recommend any quality planners or firms (based on your or own experience or that of someone you know) to help us set up our dream wedding in Rome next year?

I used to work for an Italian travel company based in Chicago as their villa/hotel rep. My former colleague (and friend) Maria is responsible only for Italian destination weddings. Working with her provides the benefit of an English speaking planner with excellent contacts in Italy. Seriously, she is wonderful. You will not be scammed. You will get exactly what you want. Their website is www.selectitaly.com. memail me if you want more information.

I am friendly with a travel company based in Rome... they know pretty much everyone in the city. I was just there this week and they were fantastic. I'm a travel agent and my boss has been working with their company president on programs for about 30 years. Email me directly at kevindern [at] gmail.com if you'd like their information.
