What's with the truck noise in Toronto today?
December 1, 2004 7:44 AM Subscribe
I'm in Toronto, currently just northeast of Queen's Park Crescent. Why have there been trucks blowing their horns outside my window for the past two hours?
I'm assuming it's some sort of protest (Bush-related, I imagine). Does anybody have any details? I can't find any breaking news which would tell me.

Response by poster: Ah, yes. Here it is. Previous Google attempts did not include the word "film". I'll know better next time.
Thanks!

Maybe they can see you naked. Close your curtains.

Hey cool, more Torontonians!
(Sorry, that wasn't very helpful.)

I thought it was Bush-related, too. The crowds on the lawn and police cars and fire trucks around the Crescent. I got closer, they were generic NYC vehicles.

I heard about this on the radio, but they didn't mention the being a public nuisance aspect, so I didn't connect it until philfromhavelock mentioned the NYC vehicles thing.

Not at all helpful but: Dude, we must be neighbours. (I slept through it though. I heard vague honking in the distance, but my window faces away from the park, so somehow i just totally was oblivious all day.)

Response by poster: We'll have to have another meetup sometime soon (the last one kinda fell through). Preferably after exams.

That's a groovy idea - although this mightn't be the right meta-room to be discussing it :)

I was at Bloor and Spadina until April or May.
I miss the city. Even the random protests.
