Help my friend pretend he's The Stig

Supercar/ racecar driving experience within a reasonable distance of London (i.e. daytrip)? Top Gear-obsessed friend from U.S. is currently visiting.
Coming from the US, I know just about every racetrack here offers a "NASCAR" style driving experience in the realm of $400-$1000/day. However, my friend is currently visiting London and wants to know if there's any tracks within a few hours of the city that offers something similar.
He's pretty flexible as to what's available, whether it's rally, formula1 or just high-end sportscars...although I think the preference is to be able to try a few laps in a few different (euro) cars.
My googling is just turning up a bunch of gift-certificate looking sites, but since the time horizon is pretty short (probably within the next week or so), I'm hoping to find some actual information on the tracks/programs.

Brands Hatch is less than an hour outside London, and has hosted the British Grand Prix.

Might be worth heading over to Pistonheads forums as there might be a lot more info over there
