Help me fix a wayward office phone!

I need help resetting a NEC Dterm80 office phone.

Our office manager was fired and now we have two phones with old employee passwords that need to be reset. We need to change the voicemail message, code, etc. but can't access the menu to do this without resetting the phone. We can reset the phone without the ex-employee's password. Quite the conundrum.

Can anyone help?

The manual has proven to be useless....

Thanks!

Do you have access to the system administrator extension (often 632), from where you can reset the mailbox? If so once in there press More>MGR>CHBX and enter the extension. It should prompt you to delete the security code.

All of this will depend on the PBX running your system and how it is setup. Otherwise how do you reset the phone? Is it a command once in the mailbox for the telephone itself?

What clarkie666 said. Depending on what system that Dterm is running on, you may or may not be able to set it. If you're on an IPK-II system, you'll need to have an NEC tech change it unless you know how. Not sure about the old IPKs or the Electras and Elites. Been a while.
