Building Materials Filter: Where in Chicagoland, might one purchase untempered masonite and/or Upson board?
I'm looking for untempered masonite to use as a substrate for mixed media art. I used to find the untempered masonite at Home Depot, a few years ago. Now, if I ask, the lumber employees just look at me like I'm crazy.
My husband teaches theater, so I asked his tech director, who didn't have any sources, as her source for Upson board (heavy cardboard they use for sets) had gone out of business. Any suggestions?

Response by poster: Yes, thanks hobbes, have tried the other "big boxes" and got the same quizzical looks from their employees. Will check out the Blue Book, perhaps I can place an order through work (machine shop).

Also, have you tried Lowes, or Menards? I never liked Home Depot 'cause most of their workers were inexperienced.
