HELP - Broken Squeeze Ball Mess

One of my kids broke a Color Change Squeeze Ball and whatever is inside it shot out all over the couch and rug. Does anyone know what this stuff is and how to clean it?
I'm not sure what the consistency of the particular gel you are dealing with it (I assume it's something paraffin-based), but I have had good results removing Silly Putty from carpets with Goo Gone.

I too have no idea what space age polymer is inside. However, I can report that the stain on my office carpet came out with the routine professional carpet cleaning. You may have some luck with a carpet cleaning spray like Resolve.

white vinegar is often helpful in de-gelling gels. I'd try wetting it with vinegar and blotting it with paper towel. Don't rub though.
