I am just looking for a place to put my stuff...

Camping/OutdoorFurnitureFilter: Tent advice, also I am looking for a very specific type of camping/outdoor table that has eluded me for over a year now, details and picture inside.

This table is approx 2 feet tall, has a cloth top that droops down a bit (which creates a nice concave surface). On either 2 or 4 of the corners there are drink holders. The metal legs are attached to the table at each corner and then criss cross to create what looks like two teepees stacked on top of each other (ultimately, leg design is not a requirement).

I have been trying to find a place to buy one of these forever - I have been to Bass Pro Shop, Gander Mountain, Dick's Sporting Goods, numerous websites - I think it still exists, but searching for "camping table" yields lots of metal, rollup tables.

The key thing I am looking for a is a cloth top that creates almost a bowl. Drink holders are a plus. The table is great for holding small things around a late night campfire - cigarettes, keys, flashlight, s'more ingredients, etc.. I would love it if someone could point me in a direction where I can attain one of these.

I have drawn a very crude picture here.

Also - on the camping tip - I am looking for recommendations on a 6 - 8 person tent. Does anyone have one that they are in love with? I love pockets, cubbies and functional doo-dads so a tent with Batman-esque storage compartments are a plus.

Thanks in advance again to the mefi community, your answers have yet to let me down.

Pretty sure this is what you're looking for, table-wise.

Response by poster: That is close, and I think if nothing else pops up that may work just fine. The one I have in my doesn't look as complicated as that one does - this one "assembles" and the one I have seen before simply folds up on itself.

However - thank you for the link, this will work if I can't find exactly what I am looking for.

Best answer: REI's version of what jessamyn suggested.

Have you looked at Cabelas?

I've seen similar tables at Dunham's Sporting Goods and Target in the past, but they don't seem to be on the websites now.

In NJ there's a cool place called Campmor, it has an online store. Not sure if they have locations elsewhere. Might be worth a look.

Since your profile says you're in Wichita, you might try calling Einstein's Outdoor Outfitters in Topeka (they don't have a website or email, but their phone number is 785-357-4104). They're awesome and I'm sure they'd be glad to give some advice on the tent and would track down the table for you if they possibly can.

Response by poster: MrMoonPie - that table looks great, it's seems to be a smaller version of jessamyn's table, and it says it folds up on itself.

Fuzzy - Thanks for the advice, I will call them this evening.

Best answer: Brettus, no need to go to high-end camp stores for those. I bought two at ShopKo last year for $6.99 each. I will upload a picture later to confirm it's what you're looking for.

Response by poster: I went with a friend today to the Coleman factory outlet - and low and behold they had one of these tables available. They had not had them in the past. However, it isn't a table - it's an automan that comes with a chair. There very well maybe a table out there that is like it, but I found this and jumped on the purchase as I needed a new chair anyway. It was $25 in the outlet store.

It can be purchased online here : http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=2000000362&categoryid=10010

The key words to search for this were either "end table" or "ottoman", both of these search terms brought me much closer to finding the real thing. Thanks everyone for your help!

Response by poster: One more note : Even though users cannot see mr_crash's pictures he sent me, he was spot on with his guess. I the link I provided above is to a chair that comes with basically the same thing. The one I purchased in store came with drink holders on it as well (I didn't see them in the picture).

Response by poster: Ugh - one more thing, apparently these are called "Camp Cubes" and can be found here on the Coleman website.
