Domino magazine has closed. What will Conde Nast send me next?

With so many magazines folding, does anyone know if Conde Nast will substitute my subscription for another publication? I just subscribed to Domino through amazon.com for $5, so it's not a huge loss but I am curious what they'll do (especially for those who had just signed on for 2-year subscriptions, etc.) I would normally call the publisher, but I can't seem to find any contact information for this kind of question.

Best answer: Probably a postcard asking you to check a box and choose between 2-3 alternatives. That's what happened the last time a magazine I subscribed to went under.

I thought I read that it would be Architectural Digest, but now I can't remember where I saw that.

I can't find the link right now, but they have been thinking of doing Architectural Digest or some kind of selection between a few options. I don't think they'd made up their mind as of last week. I'm not sure why they won't keep the website up - so many other mags are following that direction.

Domino, ReadyMade, JPG, Blueprint, Craft. RIP 2009!

I hope you have a choice. Mrs. exogenous had subscribed to a magazine she calls Domino-like, and when they stopped publishing it they simply started sending her ... Redbook.

I had the same experience with several magazines as Mrs. exogenous.

I started getting Redbook too after something folded. Granted, Redbook is published by Hearst, but they're geared toward an older audience 30+ and I was about 22 at the time. A lot of publishers don't bother asking, they just send something. If you're unsatisfied, you'll have to wait and contact customer service after that.

I had a similar experience - twice - and both times got Elle to fill out the rest of my subscription without any sort of "Would you like to..." question. I'd really be surprised if they asked, but maybe they will since Domino failed in rather a high profile sort of way.
